We were married in Malta in Oct 2011 and we could not recommend Heffernans highly enough. Heffernan’s looked after all of the guests flights and accommodation. They kept in contact with us to the lead up to the wedding and gave us plenty of advance notice regarding any legal,church requirements. Regarding our wedding we had to do nothing but turn up!
We were completely relaxed before the wedding knowing everything was taken care of including the Church,reception,music,transport-everything!
I would not hesitate to recommend Heffernans to anybody considering a wedding abroad. We really enjoyed our special day and 99% of that was down to the organisation and planning by Heffernans. The staff in Heffernans are always warm,pleasant and very organised. They gave us loads of tips for visiting places of interest in Malta and their service is exceptional!

Finally we’re getting around to contacting you. First of all sincere thanks for all your hard work re our wedding. The whole trip and certainly the wedding day could not have gone better. Everyone really enjoyed it.
The service at the hotel was fantastic at all times. Robert arranged several last-minute things for us, even cake decoration. The hairdressers & beauticians were outstanding. We were very impressed with the care the staff took regarding serving the meal etc.
Fr. Charles was brilliant as he was so relaxed and made everything very easy for us. He even put beautiful music on his Ipod for us at suitable moments during the ceremony.
The Travelling Strollers surpassed all our expectations. They are extremely talented and we would recommend them to anyone. They made a huge contribution to the atmosphere for everyone. The DJ catered perfectly for our crowd. The Quadro on the Reef itself was a dream location. Our guests are still praising the experience.
The photographer and the videographer did a perfect job. We couldn’t be more pleased with the photo album and the video. All of this was organised without fuss and without difficulty for anyone, certainly no unnecessary waiting around in the heat. He also managed to arrange for us to take the album & video home with us which was an extra bonus compared to dealing with all of that from home.
We had a wonderful time on Gozo too.
I hope we haven’t forgotten to mention anyone in particular. The whole team in Malta was excellent. Thanks again for all your advice and for organising everything just as we had hoped for. Thanks to all at Heffernan’s who were involved.

The holiday was amazing – definitely a holiday of a life time and the Wedding went really well – even better than we had thought it would!
The resort was beautiful – It was great being on the All inclusive package and not having to worry about the cost of anything I would definitely tell you to urge any future clients you have that may be thinking of not going All Inclusive to change they minds. Food and drink would be very expensive if you were not on all Inclusive!
Everyone we met over there were really friendly.
The wedding was brillant – so stress free! The hotel had a wedding co-ordinator who met us when we arrived at the hotel and we had a meeting with her a couple of days later to finalise what we wanted on the day of the wedding (Time, location, flowers, cake and if we wanted a photographer etc) then all we had to do was go to the capital on the day before the wedding – the travel agent over there met us at our hotel in the morning and brought us to the capital – there we had to visit various court houses/ Lawyers etc but the travel agent brought us around and every thing was very close. We were back at the hotel again soon after mid day.
There was a good hair dresser there also – I was delighted with my hair.
The wedding cermony was lovely and they looked after us really well and made us feel very special!

I just wanted to thank you both for your work in ensuring our wedding day was effortlessly wonderful for us. To start, all flights, accommodation and transfers took place perfectly – not a hitch anywhere. And all done with a smile – bliss!
On the wedding day itself, six of us landed in to the hairdresser in Mellihea. She wasn’t expecting that many of us – and certainly didn’t expect that everyone wanted “Up” styles but she handled it like the talented professional she undoubtedly is. Despite the tight timescale, each of us was given a style that somehow expressed our personality – you had the Mad Student, the Southern Belle, the Classic Chignon etc whilst I had a very intricate but totally unfussy style. I have no idea how she gleaned the personalities involved but she definitely produced the goods in a hugely relaxed and laughter filled atmosphere.
The flower arrangements/bouquet/corsages you arranged for us were exactly what we had envisaged. They were so fresh! In fact, one of the guests at the wedding spent a lot of her time taking photos of the table arrangements to see if she can get an Irish florist to reproduce something similar for her own wedding next year.
The wedding car was a dream come true which arrived promptly on time – all ribboned up and beautiful. And the drive along the coast with the top down was something that can only be imagined.
And what can I say of the Westin? The location was idyllic, the service incomparable, the food magnificent and the staff personified to a man exactly the service that every newly married couple would wish to have on the Big Day. The Restaurant Manager was discreetly everywhere, watching and missing nothing – with a smile and graciousness that would be impossible to beat. The other staff members carried out their duties with a smile and sense of humour that left everyone at their ease and relaxed. In such circumstances it is usual to say that nothing was too much trouble for them – in this case they made us feel that nothing was ANY trouble for them – they just wanted us to have a wonderful day – and we really did. The room we stayed in was, needless to say, of a five star luxury quality but oh! the balcony – with views 180 degrees in every direction, it was truly the stuff of dreams! Everything went like clockwork and without a hitch. From the beginning we were guided seamlessly through all the paperwork which took a lot of stress and strain out of the time leading up to the wedding. All went fantastic for the wedding, from start to finish everything was perfect from the hotel to the staff to everything we could not have asked for more and we just had a ball. Just returned from our dream wedding in ‘Alvor’!! What can I say – we were so apprehensive heading off as we had not seen our Hotel (Tivoli Arade/Marina) or Church first hand but we were totally blown away by what was waiting for us. We had an amazing time in Portugal, so much fun. The wedding was amazing. The photographers were fab, so happy we went with them. Claudia, the hotel staff, hairdresser, priest, band etc were perfect. The church decorations were beautiful. The hotel was perfect, the cubian style band for the drinks reception were unreal, wish they played all day, everyone loved them, Definitely use them again, they got everyone in the mood. The Band were great craic.
The meal was fab, the fish was gorgeous and they couldn’t do enough for us, we are already planning our first year anniversary at the Tivoli. Thank you for all your hard work, you helped make our day go perfectly.

When we got engaged in Dec 2007, we wanted to get married abroad by the following September. Once we met with Nichola of Heffernan’s Travel, we knew were in good hands. She clearly explained all the destination options and the travel choices for each destination. We chose to go to Lake Garda.
Over the following months we met up with Nichola around 3 or 4 times and she took care of everything, from advising on the paper work, to emailing details regarding cakes, flowers etc. It took all the hassle out of searching through wedding magazines, wedding fairs and wedding related shops.
Once we arrived in September to the Hotel Liberty in Riva, Dario (hotel manager) and Anna-Lisa (wedding co-ordinator) looked after everything. Irish weddings are their main business and they are very professional and experienced operators. We didn’t have to arrange anything apart from finalising some last minute details with Dario. The services and amenities of the hotel were very impressive. There is an in-house hairdresser, beautician and make up artist to look after ever need of the bride. The wedding day itself went like clockwork. The church wedding was beautiful with a very friendly Italian priest. The music throughout the day which was the church organist and singer, piano and violin during drinks reception and MG Project for later on, where all really entertaining and added to the atmosphere throughout the day.
The food, wine and wedding cake were all top-notch homemade quality you would come to expect from Italian cuisine. The photographer was very friendly and took a lot of set-up shots as well as more causal photos. We were very happy with the wedding photos, which are presented on a disk the day after the wedding. If you want a wedding abroad without the fuss and hassle of organising it all yourself, I strongly recommend Nichola at Heffernan’s Travel to look after you. Riva is a particularly beautiful and friendly place that caters very well for everyone including couples, families and senior citizens.

Thanks for all your help in organizing our special day. It was everything we wanted and more. The setting was magical, the service was excellent, the food was amazing, and it was hassle free from beginning to end.
We fell in love with the location after a brief visit last October and booked our date soon after. We were so happy that most of our families and friends were willing to join us for the week-long celebration. With just a few choices to make, our planning was done. The day itself was fantastic. The hairdressers, photographers, drivers, hotel staff, band and DJ were all so professional and friendly. Everything went so well the music did’t stop until the early hours! Everybody said it was the best wedding they had ever been to and I have to agree with that. I think people want to organize an ‘anniversary holiday’ next year!
In all, we wouldn’t change a single thing and we can’t praise you enough. We will always have happy memories of our wedding in Portugal. It was the best decision ever.

Everything about the Wedding day was just fantastic, we were so happy with everything. The staff in the hotel were very friendly and helpful, all the guests were very impressed. The food and drink was gorgeous. The Church was fabulous, and Fr. Manuel was so friendly and spoke perfect English. I would say if anyone was getting married in Portugal, the Saxophone player is a must have, he was great entertainment and all the guests were well impressed with him, he is such a funny man. The photographers were also fantastic, we met with them the day before the wedding, they showed us a sample album and photos and we could tell them what kind of photos we liked. They took lots of photos of us, the wedding party and guests, they were very friendly and stayed until after the first dance. The DJ played good lively music which got everyone dancing for hours. We have to say that all of this would not be possible if we didn’t have your help. You were always there on the other end of the phone when I needed you.
